FBI Special Affairs Division

The Hoffmann Institute has recently formed a covert relationship with the Special Affairs Division through liaison FBI agents Roush and Wu.

A subdivision of the FBI, SAD consists of about 20 field agents, three or four administrators and leaders, and a varied support staff of about a dozen. SAD agents are fully qualified FBI field agents.
SAD is aware that supernatural/paranormal entities and events are real, and it has collated supporting evidence over the 50 years it has been in operation. Nonetheless, it keeps quiet about the supernatural, allowing only those with a need-to-know about their mandate.
This secretiveness means that most of the public and even much of the government doesn’t know what SAD really investigates and even within the FBI, SAD is considered the “crank squad” that gets stuck dealing with lunatics and weirdos.

SAD is somewhat reactive and largely overt. They are held to all the bureau’s rules and restrictions. Agents normally act openly when pursuing a case, although they don’t mention their specific interests to civilians or local authorities.
